Artexpress 2022 at AGNSW
Every year the Art Gallery of New South Wales exhibits Artexpress, a collection of works created by the state’s visual-arts students for their HSC. It’s one of the gallery’s most innovative – and trafficked – exhibitions.
It allows the next generation of artists – from across Sydney and regional NSW, and from a mix of private and government schools – into the public arena.
This year’s exhibition features 43 pieces selected from 8440 student works from the 2021 higher school certificate cohort. Their artworks traverse multiple disciplines, including ceramics, photography, designed objects, drawing, painting, prints, sculptures and textiles. And many address issues directly relevant to their young creators, such as the pandemic, self-identity, resilience, the environment and optimism.
Open daily from 10am to 5pm. Entry is free.
