Art Party at the Bearded Tit

In honour of its 10th anniversary, the Redfern fave the Bearded Tit is hosting its first ever art auction and party. After a decade of uplifting up-and-coming queer artists and spotlighting experimental art, it isn’t just a venue – it has become a pillar of Sydney’s queer and art scene.

The auction will run from August 26 to 8.30pm on September 7, with works by more than 40 Australasian artists. And we're talking some big names: Tony Albert, William Yang, Agatha Gothe-Snape, Blak Douglas and more. The pieces can be viewed online or in person.

On the auction’s final day, the Bearded Tit will host a vibrant art party to welcome its next decade, and finish off the week of celebration. Hosted by Kelly Lovemonster, there will be performances by some of the country’s prominent queer figures like dancer Fetu Taku and musician Marcus Whale, and DJ sets from Fried Pork Chop and Kilimi.

Funds raised from the event will help the Bearded Tit to remain the safe, supportive environment it has been for the last ten years for queer expression and creative freedom. Whoever you are, the Bearded Tit wants you there to celebrate.
