Phoenix Central Park presents the Biennale favourite, every Wednesday night at White Bay Power Station.

The 24th Biennale of Sydney returns from Sunday March 9 to Monday June 10, 2024. As part of the festival, Art After Dark is back, bringing free music performances to the White Bay Power Station. The venue has reopened to the public for the first time in over a century following an extensive $100 million renovation.

During the Biennale, Art After Dark is presented every Wednesday night with Phoenix Central Park, who’ve curated free music performances inspired by the theme of this year’s Biennale, Ten Thousand Suns.

The packed Art After Dark program includes ethereal UK-based soundscaper Penelope Trappes (for her second-ever performance in Sydney); Perth-based MC Pookie; a rap/rave double-bill with Ryan Fennis & Voidhood with 700 Feel; post-punk group the Empty Threats with genre-bending supergroup Perfect Actress; multi-talented musician and NTS Radio resident host YL Hooi with Silzedrek (Tarquin Manek); plus lo-fi experimental duo Troth and Rory J S.

To kick off the series on Wednesday March 13 there’s a special, ticketed performance from Brooklyn-based rapper and queer icon Cakes Da Killa, supported by MC Yallah with regular collaborator Debmaster.

With the exception of the Cakes Da Killa show, all Art After Dark performances are free with registration via ballot. All events are 18+. See more information and register to attend.
