Archie Rose Pop-Up at Sydney International Airport
Sydney International Airport does food and drink better than most. Travellers about to jet off can eat seasonal food at top chef Mike McEnearney’s Kitchen By Mike canteen, drink Campos coffee, throw back brews at Heineken House and snack on Sydney chef Luke Mangan’s cooking at Bridge Bar. Sydney distillery Archie Rose is adding to your options with a cocktail bar pop-up.
You’ll find the 16-seat Archie Rose Cocktail Bar at Sydney Airport’s international terminal, right near Kitchen By Mike, Joe & The Juice and Heineken House.
The pop-up will be around for four months and the team will be shaking, stirring and pouring Manhattans, Martinis and other classic cocktails. It’s using its new Archie Rose Sydney Opera House Inside and Outside gins, as well as the other gins, vodka and whiskies it produces a couple of suburbs away in Rosebery.
It seems fitting that Archie Rose should pop up in a place where so many locals and international visitors pass through. When it landed in 2014 it was the first distillery to open in Sydney since 1850, and is known for collaborating with Sydney icons such as the Opera House, the Australian Museum and Carriageworks. (It has also crafted an “Archiemite” buttered toast spirit for those who want to infuse Vegemite into every aspect of their lives.)
