All-You-Can-Eat Dumplings at Wild Life Sydney Zoo
There’s a whole host of spots in Sydney where you can get all-you-can-eat dumplings these days. But as far as we know, there's only one place you can eat unlimited dumplings and hang out with koalas: Wild Life Sydney Zoo.
Over the Lunar New Year period, the Darling Harbour zoo has converted its koala rooftop into a Chinese dumpling house. It’s enlisted dumpling-monger New Shanghai to whip up batches of prawn and pork wonton, chicken and celery dumplings, and xiao long bao for guests to eat as they gaze out at the furry marsupials.
Before or after a half-hour dumpling-smashing session, guests will get after-hours access to the zoo, with the chance to get up close to not only koalas, but also kangaroos, wombats, platypuses and crocs.
There are three 30-minute dumpling sessions each night, at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm. Guests are free to roam the zoo until 9pm. The best bit? For every ticket bought, the zoo will donate $5 to charities that are helping wildlife injured in the bushfires.
