Head down to the Nigerian restaurant for East African dishes including vegetable stew, meat curry and Ethiopian bread – all while boogying to Afrobeats for a good cause.

Community-led organisation Africultures is popping up at Newtown Nigerian diner Little Lagos for a one-off block party celebrating African culture, art, music and food.

Enjoy an East African-inspired menu with dishes from Ethiopia and Somalia in particular. There'll be sukkar (meat and chicken curry), ater kik wat (split pea stew), atkilt alicha (vegetable stew), and Somali sambusa (stuffed pastries) – all served with spiced rice and injera (Ethiopian bread). To drink, the team's got you covered with Ethiopian coffee. There’s also vegan options available on the day.

No party is complete without music. Get down to DJs spinning Afrobeats throughout the day and into the night.

All funds raised will go towards this year’s Africultures Festival – Australia’s largest one-day community-run festival showcasing the diversity of Africa Down Under.

From 2pm till late.
