It’s already been a while since “cozzie livs” entered the vernacular, and it seems like we’ll be pinching pennies for a bit longer. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy Sydney’s dining scene.

Sydney Restaurant Group – the hospitality collective behind venues like Ormeggio at the Spit, Noi and The Fenwick – is offering a special 50 per cent off deal at five of its venues. Initially introduced in the winter months, it’s been extended into spring, too – for the whole month of September. Some of the venues also offer BYO, so you can make a whole night of it.

The team first made the offer at three venues last year, and it’s back for 2024 at three more spots. The offer applies to each restaurant’s three-course menu, so you can get three dishes plus sides at half their usual price. It’s available at Noi and The Fenwick, as well as Manta in Woolloomooloo, Ripples Chowder Bay and Ripples Little Manly.

The menus at each venue are always changing, so you can try something new each time you visit – but here’s a taste.

At Manta, the menu will rotate through specialties like prawn fritura, heritage beetroots, mushroom risotto, kurobuta pork and Valrhona chocolate fondant with pistachio ice-cream. Ripples Chowder Bay, meanwhile, is offering changing entrees (think calamari, beef tartare or roasted eggplant), mains (barramundi or Wagyu beef check) and desserts like tiramisu or apple crumble. Both are just $59 for three courses.

Not to be beat, The Fenwick is offering a choice of dishes like beetroot carpaccio, chicken liver parfait or mussel escabeche to start, followed by hand-rolled gnocchi, market fish or kurobuta-pork scotch fillet, then the house tiramisu or yuzu cheesecake, also $59.

Ripples Little Manly is even easier on the hip pocket, offering plates like calamari, salt-baked beetroot, lamb ragu or miso-roasted cauliflower, plus dessert, for just $49.

And at Noi, there’s an evolving Italian menu for $59, with starters like beetroot salad, Wagyu beef battuta and cod mantecato; a pasta course with staples like risotto, spinach spaetzle or boccole; and mains such as lamb rump, market fish, or charred eggplant with whipped ricotta.

The half-price specials are available until September 30 at these five venues only.
