4A presents 48HR Incident
48HR Incident will open with a live wrestling match in Chinatown on the last weekend of May. With the reward of a doubled artist fee up for grabs, The Wrestle (2015), will pit Australian artist Frances Barrett against 4A curator Toby Chapman in a freestyle wrestling match adjudicated by Commonwealth Wrestling athlete Carissa Holland.
Curated by 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, 48HR Incident is a 48-hour-long program of performance art and live action featuring Australian and international artists. Also on the line-up is a work by Dadang Christanto never before seen outside of Indonesia, and a 12 hour durational performance from Boston artist Tony Schwensen, and many more.
The performances run from 6pm Friday May 29–6pm Sunday May 31.
