Every Thursday the team at Black Bottle is pouring $2 glasses of wine, which can be paired with a pintxo (a bite-sized snack originating in northern Spain) for an extra $2. The wine varies from week to week and is not taken from Black Bottle's regular wine list. Instead, owner Lucas Cristofle snaps up deals on top drops where he can.
It's a similar story with the pintxos. There is no menu but the resident chef whips up the bar snacks to pair with the wine for that week. Everything is served from the counter for a European atmosphere, something Cristofle feels is missing from Sydney's nightlife.
The deal is available from 5pm until the wine runs out. Even Cristofle struggles to predict when that might be. He recommends getting in early to avoid missing out.
