18th Biennale of Sydney
If you’re itching for an art fix, you can most certainly get it during Sydney’s 18th Biennale, which has oodles of thought-provoking performances and exhibitions to be experienced over a three-month period.
The Biennale of Sydney is the third longest running Biennale in the world, and artistic directors Catherine de Zegher and Gerald McMaster have collected together a goldmine of 100 diverse artists from all over the world to take part in this cultural and creative extravaganza.
This year, the theme is all our relations, and many of the artists are creating fresh works chiefly for the exhibition model, including comprehensive collaborative installations that explore important global issues such as immigration, corruption and repression.
The theme also examines a shifting reality that applies to how we relate to each other in a technologically advanced world that is growing more and more connected each day.
At the core of the exhibition is the significance of storytelling, and how it can inspire change and collaboration.
