For almost 20 years now, the Twilight at Taronga Zoo series has been an unmissable event of the summer in Sydney. With its stage situated at the edge of the zoo, offering spectacular views over the Harbour Bridge and its surroundings, it has gathered several generations of concertgoers. From Friday January 30 to Saturday March 21, Twilight at Taronga will celebrate its 20th edition, and it just unveiled a line-up that will delight more than one.
The 2015 line-up features Australian artists such as Bernard Fanning, You Am I, Sarah Blasko and Something For Kate. But this year, renowned international guests will also have their names on top of the bill. No less than Rufus Wainwright and Belle and Sebastian, as examples among many others, will be on stage during this edition. Finally, former guests will be welcomed back, like Björn Again and Anthony Callea.
With this new line-up, Twilight at Taronga Zoo seeks to attract a new generation of concertgoers, and seems willing to be modernised. As proof, the purchase of a ticket allows free public transport to go to the concerts. But the series remains faithful to what gives it all its charm, just like its family mind: concertgoers can still sit on the grass and enjoy a picnic while listening to the artists. Special hampers, made by chef Giovanni Pilu, are available (on pre-purchase online only). It also remains loyal to its environmental commitments, as all the profits made will be donated to the Taronga Conservation Society Australia, so as to support wildlife conservation.
Twilight at Taronga Zoo runs from January 30 - March 21, 2015.
