Legendary filmmaker Oliver Stone will make two appearances in Sydney for Vivid Ideas.
The highly acclaimed director is responsible for pivotal moments in film history, delivering a line-up of cult-classics and politically charged movies such as Scarface and Midnight Express (writer) and Wall Street, Platoon, JFK and Nixon (director).
Stone will speak as part of the Game-Changer Talks Series. He’ll share his philosophy on navigating controversy and his approach to telling difficult stories. Movie critic and TV personality Margaret Pomeranz will join him on stage.
Stone will also speak at Semi Permanent at Carriageworks to discuss the power of film in shaping and challenging perceptions. Semi Permanent is a platform for leaders in creative industries to share their work and insights. This year the event has recruited creatives from the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, VICE Impact, Nike, Getty Images and the Moth Collective.
Game-Changer: Oliver Stone is on Sunday May 28 from 5pm–6.30pm at City Recital Hall, 2 Angel Place, Sydney. Tickets are available here.
Oliver Stone appears at Semi Permanent on Friday May 26 at Carriageworks, 245 Wilson Street, Eveleigh.
