This year’s Sydney Fringe Festival sees a dynamic new events program – the Makers Series, presented by Maker’s Mark – take over the city’s newest cultural precinct. The Machine Hall, an electrical-substation-turned-performance-space in the heart of the CBD, is set to host several nights of music, food, talks and storytelling from some of Sydney’s boldest independent artists, thinkers and creators. To celebrate, Maker’s Mark is giving one lucky Broadsheet reader a very sleek weekend in Sydney this September.
If you’ve ever sampled Maker’s Mark, you’ll know it’s different to other bourbon labels. Handmade since 1953 using soft red winter wheat instead of rye, with Kentucky limestone to filter water from the distillery’s own source, it’s a premium product – and this is a sleek prize to match.
The winner will receive two tickets to The Makers Series event Just Desserts on Friday September 27. Dessert chef Anna Polyviou, R&B artist Ngaiire and floral artist Acid Flwrs are coming together for a collaboration merging taste, colour and sound – expect delicious, one-off desserts courtesy of Polyviou, set to the backdrop of hyper-coloured flowers and the neo-soul, gospel and pop rhythms of Ngaiire.

SIGN UPThat’s not all, though. The prize pack also includes a two-night stay at the Ace Hotel, a handsome boutique designed by Flack Studio, where the rooms are kitted out with guitars, vinyl collections and custom robes. It’s perfect place to get ready for a chic weekend. You’ll receive transfers to and from the event as well, which means you’ll have no issue working your way through the complimentary bottle of Maker’s Mark.
The most difficult part for the winner will be choosing a guest to share it all with.
