If you’re planning your hit list for Sydney Fringe Festival this September, you won’t want to miss a stop at one of the events in The Makers Series. Known for its dedication to craftsmanship and premium American bourbon, Maker’s Mark is bringing its reputation for quality to Machine Hall, with a series of ticketed events.

It all kicks off with Independence Days on September 18 and 19, followed by two more nights the next week on September 25 and 26. Hidden away at the bottom of Machine Hall, this speakeasy-inspired bar pairs craft cocktails with artistic performances in a relaxed and intimate setting. There’ll be impromptu discussions about art, performance, passion and independent creativity, plus opportunities to connect with like-minded people – all over your drink of choice, with plenty of Maker’s Mark to be had. Entry is free but tickets are required. Independence Days runs from 6pm to 9pm each night.

Fans of hip-hop won’t want to miss Voices From the Fringe, a free event taking place across two Saturdays, on September 21 and 28. It’ll feature music battles, collabs and performances, with plenty of space for unearthed talent to have their time on stage, in a way that only Fringe allows. It’s also running at Machine Hall.

The Makers Series closes out on Friday September 27 with a special sensory collaboration. Just Desserts brings together dessert chef Anna Polyviou with R&B artist Ngaiire and floral artist Acid Flwrs for a collaboration merging taste, colour and sound. Expect delicious, one-off desserts courtesy of Polyviou set to the backdrop of hyper-coloured flowers. The night will come together with neo-soul, gospel and pop rhythms from Ngaiire. The one-off event promises plenty of delightful creativity from all three artists. And if you weren’t already sold, your ticket will include full access to Polyviou’s dessert bar, as well as a Maker’s Mark cocktail. The event runs from 6pm to 10pm; tickets cost $149, with Deadly Tix available for $117.30. And as a treat for Broadsheet readers, we’ve teamed up with Maker’s Mark so you can also win tickets to the event, plus two nights at the Ace Hotel Sydney and a bottle of Maker’s Mark to take home.
