Sydney loves an outdoor cinema – there are stacks of them – but none have ever allowed you to watch a film on a boat floating on Sydney Harbour. Until now.

Floating Cinema is coming to Sydney. For it punters will board a boat headed to a location with what we suspect will have an impressive view, and then as the sun sets, a movie will be screened.

The details are light on right now, but we know each cruise-screening will last three hours and it kicks off in December with some Christmas flicks (Love Actually is playing on December 18) and then runs through summer. Pick up and drop off will be at King Street Wharf, Darling Harbour, and each screening will be limited to just 150 tickets. We've been told will be mulled wine and mince pies too.

More details to come.

Tickets go on sale on Monday November 26.
