Solange Knowles will perform a series of special in-the-round performances at Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid Live 2018, the city’s largest festival of light, music and ideas.
The R’n’B artist will perform her breakthrough 2016 Album A Seat at the Table in Australia for the first time across four shows this June. The shows (June 1 to 4) will include dancers and cinema-sized visuals.
Vivid Live is in its 10th year, and curator Ben Marshall couldn’t be more excited.
“With A Seat at the Table’s exploration of black American identity, empowerment and the complexity of black womanhood, [Solange Knowles] is at the intersection of effortlessly cool music and thoughtful activism,” says Marshall.
A ballot for tickets is now open and will close on Sunday March 4 at 11.59pm. Successful ballot applicants will receive an email with a purchase link between 10am and 4pm on Thursday March 8. A maximum of four tickets per customer is available. These will be Knowles’s only Australian shows.
The full Vivid Live 2018 program will be announced in mid March.
