The viral resurgence of Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s early-2000s pop hit Murder on the Dancefloor has been welcome. Forever ranking highly on my annual Spotify wrapped, the track is now gracing radio stations everywhere. Thank you, Saltburn. Now, it’s a murder on the beach, with the British star headlining the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Bondi Beach Party on Saturday February 24.

The iconic stretch of sand will be a mighty fine place to groove to Ellis-Bextor’s discography, with waves crashing in as the sun sets. It’s the biggest party in this year’s festival, with celebrations kicking off at 2pm.

Joining the line-up is Missouri-born pop artist Slayyyter (in an exclusive Aussie performance); DJ sets from the UK’s Jay Jay Revlon and Lagoon Femshayma and American Corey Craig; plus local talents Tyoow, Mama de Leche and Beth Yen.
