Now that the NSW government’s Dine & Discover vouchers are being rolled out statewide, the question on everyone’s mind is, “What can $100 get me, anyway?”
Quite a bit, as it turns out – especially if you spend it with the right venues.
How it works is every NSW resident aged 18 and over is entitled to receive four $25 vouchers – $100 in total. You’ll receive two $25 vouchers to use when dining out, and two more for entertainment and recreation. The vouchers are being released progressively by local government area, and Service NSW has a list of all government areas currently eligible.
Some venues are offering deals to help make the most of your vouchers, and we’ve rounded up some of the best here.
Double your voucher’s worth
The Sydney Collective hospitality group is doubling the value of your vouchers across all eight of its venues, which include Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel, The Morrison Bar & Oyster Room, The Imperial in Erskineville and Northies in Cronulla. You can spend your extra $25 on food or beverage; each venue will be offering the double-up at different days and times – confirm here before visiting.
Australian Venue Co is also doubling your fun, offering another $25 when you spend your vouchers at one of its venues, including Bungalow 8, The Rook, Manly Wine and The Winery. To redeem the offer, download and sign up to the AVC app.
And Rouse Hills’s The Fiddler is doing a weekday special: get $50 worth of woodfired Italian pizzas from Monday to Thursday, for just a single Dine & Discover voucher.
When one dish isn’t enough
Rockpool Dining Group is doing multi-course meals for just $25 at a range of its venues. Get two courses at Fratelli Fresh or The Bavarian, three courses at El Camino Cantina or any burger, six wings and a soft drink at Winghaüs by Bavarian.
Every hour is happy hour
China Diner’s Bondi, Double Bay and Tramsheds locations are offering a free drink from their happy-hour menu (including wine, beer, a yuzu spritz or a Margarita) to anyone who spends a voucher with them.
Two for (a little more than) one
A movie ticket at Event Cinemas normally costs between $21 and $24, but your Dine & Discover voucher can get you two tickets for $25. It can also get you your choice of a movie ticket, medium popcorn, soft drink and a choc-top, or a Gold Class ticket. Find out more here.
More deals at the movies
If you use your voucher at Dendy Newtown you’ll get a free large popcorn. Over at Hoyts, use your “dine” vouchers on a regular drink and popcorn, choc-top and lollies; a family combo (four snack-sized popcorns and drinks); or a Hoyts Lux main meal and entree, all of which are going for $25 each. Then, use your “discover” voucher on two movie tickets, one movie ticket with regular popcorn and a drink, or a Hoyts Lux ticket.
Get out and have fun
Redballoon is accepting the vouchers for hundreds of experiences, including hot-air ballooning in the Hunter Valley, skydiving, cheesemaking workshops, brewery tours and harbour cruises. You can even use it to dine in Sydney’s Royal Botanic Garden at Luke Nguyen’s pretty Botanic House.
Experiences hub Klook is offering tickets to 30 attractions around the state for $25 – so you can afford them using just one voucher. Attractions include Sydney’s Sealife Aquarium, Wildlife Sydney Zoo, kayaking, axe throwing and walking tours. Find the full list here.
