Last month we announced the killer line-up for Vivid 2016. Talks by Spike Jonze and Jenji Kohan (Orange is the New Black writer and creator) are two of the highlights of the Vivid Ideas Program.

The rest has just been announced, and there's a lot more to get excited about.

Director of the The Dressmaker and Proof, Jocelyn Moorhouse, will hold an in-conversation on Thursday June 16. Moorhouse's career started with a bang; after her first feature, Steven Spielberg took her under his wing and she produced two more films – How To Make an American Quilt and A Thousand Acres. Her impressive trajectory changed course when two of her children were diagnosed with autism. The Dressmaker is her first film in 18 years, and it has received rave reviews, and won four AACTAs (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards).

MusicNSW will present a first for Sydney – the Women in Electronic Music Symposium on Saturday June 18. There'll be a three-day masterclass series, a debate panel and a party featuring female talent.

Yahoo and General Assembly are putting on an event called Code in the Park, an introduction to coding for all ages and abilities.

Standing out among the noise as a digital publisher is hard. Three editors and publishers will discuss how to capture the attention of an ever-distracted audience a at Creating Cut-Through Content, on June 3. The discussion will include Georgia Frances King (editor, Kinfolk magazine), Joanne Grey (editor of Australian Financial Review's BOSS Magazine) and Broadsheet founder and publisher, Nick Shelton.
