On Sunday March 15, March into Merivale presents the inaugural Coogee Foreshore Festival at the buzzing, new Coogee Pavilion. The ground floor will become a marketplace, with snack stalls, entertainment, live music and family games.

“We’ve had such a great relationship and rapport with the members of the Coogee community since opening the Pavilion,” says Andrew El-Bayeh, the business and brand manger at Merivale. “So we wanted to bring our favourite venues to them.”

The food offering includes wood-fired pizza from Vinnie’s, and tuna with ponzu, pink snapper and sashimi, and of course, oysters, from the Oyster Bar. The Kitchen will serve burgers, hot-roasted leg ham and cuttlefish with chilli and garlic.

The celebration will also extend to the promenade, where outposts of some of Merivale’s most-loved venues will be. They include Papi Chulo, Mr Wong, Sushi.e and El Loco.

Deus ex Machina is joining in with motorcycle displays, live painting, and custom, hand-shaped surfboards. There will be carnival acts such as stilt walkers, jugglers, clowns, puppet shows and movies shown in the theatrette.

Catch a live performance by Sydney-based, four-piece pop/Motown band, the Lulu Raes. Lolo Lovina, a gypsy fusion band, will play on a refurbished caravan stage.
