A star bargain
The Star is celebrating the end of lockdown by knocking 70 per cent off meals at three of its eateries every Monday until the end of October. From 11am to 5pm, The Star’s 24/7 Sports Bar, Food Quarter and Fat Noodle will be offering its meals – including laksas, burgers and chicken schnitties – at a fraction of the price. The deal is available for dine-in only, and doesn’t include alcohol. star.com.au

Emotional drinking
Sydney CBD laneway bar Cantina Ok! is launching a new menu and merch line for its reopening on Monday. Each drink has been inspired by emotions we haven’t experienced much in 2021: peace, joy and lust. The merch line also hews to the theme, emblazoned with cute illustrations of rainy clouds and grouchy faces. The illustrations are by a range of illustrious Sydneysiders, including Mike Bennie, Gen Fricker, Hayden James and Andrew Levins. okokok.com.au

Egging you on
Friday October 8 is World Egg Day, and Australian Eggs has enlisted a bunch of Aussie restaurants to create meal kits to celebrate. In Sydney, it’s worked with Kepos Street Kitchen on a tasty zucchini, sujuk (spicy sausage) and labneh omelette, with smoky eggplant dip and pitas on the side. Each kit comes with everything you need to whip up the omelette, as well as video intsructions from chef Michael Rantissi so you don’t yolk it up. It’s available October 7 and 8. Order here.

Bottomless is back
Exiting lockdown means a lot of things we once took for granted are returning. And one of those is bottomless booze. Harbourfront Seafood Restaurant in The Rocks is getting started early, with oysters and bottomless Moet available every Saturday and Sunday from October 16 until the end of the year. It’ll cost you $85 and you’ll get 90 minutes of unlimited Moet, as well as a dozen oysters. Bookings are available from 11.30am to 2.30pm. thevenuescollection.com.au

Don’t delay
Recently opened Don’t Doughnuts in Darlinghurst has launched two new treats to celebrate our exit from lockdown. The first is a doughnut pumped with house-made hibiscus and red-berry jam and topped with Nutella, toasted hazelnuts and white-chocolate ganache. The second, a savoury option, is a sourdough-brioche bun stuffed with herbed omelette, mayo, two types of cheese and smoked ham. Both creations are available from October 15, Monday to Sunday, 10am–3pm. dontdoughnuts.com.au
