A collaboration between not-for-profit Skin Check Champions and skincare brand La Roche-Posay, the hub is offering free one-on-one skin checks until January 31. It will also help educate the public on sun protection and the importance of wearing sunscreen every day, and hand out samples of La Roche-Posay’s Anthelios Invisible Fluid SPF50+ sunscreen. The lab is open from Thursday to Sunday at 1 Beach Road, Bondi. skincheckchampions.com

Opera is back
Opera Australia returns to the Opera House after a nine-month hiatus, with its first show of 2021 – an opulent production of Franz Lehár’s The Merry Widow – opening on January 5. The performance, which presents art-deco-era France in all its glory, stars Julie Lea Goodwin and Alexander Lewis. They’ll be leading an all-Australian cast in the show, which follows a wealthy widow who becomes the most coveted woman in town. opera.org.au
