The work of brothers Din and Bar Haikin, with recipes and kitchen know-how from dad Arie, Shenkin Kitchen is the third addition to a thriving hospitality business that includes the original Shenkin in Erskineville and Shenkin Espresso in Newtown.

Revamping the spot that used to house Pickwick’s restaurant, the space has been deftly refitted to include a cosy back courtyard, raw timber finishes, communal style tables and a friendly view to the kitchen where the team makes everything in-house, as per Arie’s recipes.

Breakfasts include Belgian waffles, an Israeli-style big Bbeakfast, traditional shakshouka and the distinctive sabih, complete with smoky eggplant, boiled egg, hummus and coriander sauce, all rolled up in house-made pastry and cooked to order.

Shenkin roasts its own coffee through Crop to Cup.
