When Sydney’s summer temperatures soar, Enmore’s Cow & the Moon offers some cooling relief to the inner west. It was no mistake that gelato purveyors John and Wendy Crowl from Cow & the Moon won ‘Most Successful’ at the Royal Sydney Show 2012 in the gelato display.
At their Enmore gelato bar, a gelato and sorbet rainbow is on offer, piled high with flavours such as Turkish delight, green tea and red bean, blackcurrant and blueberry, strawberry and balsamic, salted caramel and passionfruit cream. There are 25 flavours to try, all made on site in the gelato lab out back.
The Single Origin coffee is quaffable, the staff (often the Crowl’s children Sam and Olivia) cheerful and the cafe space large, light and airy. Plus there’s a great corner window seat to watch the street traffic cruise by.
On the weekends Cow & the Moon does a busy post-gig trade for the clientele pouring out from the nearby Enmore Theatre in search of a sweet late night treat.
But it you’d prefer to have yours on hand at home, takeaway containers are available.
