New, notable service and neighbourhood favourite on the Hot List
Features
There’s usually a long line outside Yeodongsik – even on a weekday – and most are coming for the Korean hangover soup. Concerning, maybe. Understandable, certainly.
If it’s not the soup, it’s the buckwheat noodles with perilla oil – which are arguably an even bigger draw. Both are generously portioned, as are all the dishes here. Once you make it inside, you’ll find wooden tables and chairs seating diners in a room reminiscent of a family-run restaurant.
You might recognise jars of perilla powder, prawn sauce and chilli on tables: they’re there so customers can customise their pork-rich hangover soups. And of course, plenty of kimchi.
