Jap’s Table

A staple for Darlington and Chippendale locals who are looking for a quick and healthy dinner or lunch fix, Jap’s Table is serving up a range of Japanese street food snacks. From bowls of don, some topped with roast pork, others topped with raw salmon and spring onion, to ramen, udon and a wide range of yakitori skewers grilled over coals, there’s more than enough to choose from here.

The yakitori is a high point, and skewers are cooked on a grill on the footpath before the dinner service, enticing diners in with the tempting scent of grilled meat. Choose between chicken thigh, (plus chicken skin and giblets if you ask), beef, octopus or other rotating specials.

A scattering of tables sit outside on the footpath, and there’s room at the bar to nurse an Asahi while you choose which items from the yakitori to order. Service is always delivered with a cheery smile.
