In 2025, the Potts Point diner formerly known as Bones Ramen moved down the hill to its current Darlinghurst address and dropped the “ramen” from its name. The intention for the new era was clear: Bones is no longer just a stop for Japanese noodle soup.
That’s evidenced by the (re)opening menu highlights: enoki and spanner crab chawanmushi, vegetarian claypot rice, and bavette steak with chicken fat jus. Thankfully, the whole king prawn and mousseline wrapped in brioche, fried, then sliced to share (aka “prawn toast”) made its way here.
While ramen may have left the name, those outstanding bowls certainly haven’t left the menu. The Tokyo-men, chicken shiro shoyu, and pork mazemen are continuing reminders of why Sydney fell in love in the first place.
