Features
In true bootlegging style, Love, Tilly Devine isn’t easy to find. But it’s all part of the allure of this seminal Sydney wine bar, and its namesake – a notorious underbelly figure from the 1920s – would have been proud. Its hideaway feel, combined with a rough timber bar, hanging ferns and intimate tables for two make LTD one of the inner-city’s best date spots.
Since 2010 the venue's 300-strong wine list has been a leader; staying in touch with current trends while paying plenty of respect to the classics. The European-influenced menu is tight but changes constantly. Whether you’re slurping rock oysters, slathering duck liver pâté on toast or working through a bowl of gnocchi, you can be sure the produce and execution are always on point.
The split-level space features an open kitchen in the front room, and a wall of wine and bar in the back. The best seat is by the alleyway window, watching lovers, wine fans and local characters passing through the door.
