La Farmacia co-owner Alfredo Perez is, according to business partner Anthony Macfarlane, the “best Margarita-maker in town.” You’d best believe him. This fun, Mexican-inspired bar hidden behind Mrs Palmer’s Sandwiches serves 16 renditions of the classic cocktail, from a Tommy’s to a reaper chilli-infused spicy number.
With so much tequila flying off the back bar, it’s a good thing this place has a serious taco game to offset all the booze. Fillings might include eight-hour beef brisket; chorizo and potato; and mushroom al pastor. You can also crowd your table with snacks including guacamole and tortilla chips; ceviche tostadas; and street-style flame-grilled corn with butter, chipotle mayo, Tajin and pecorino.
As well as a wildly popular taco Tuesday, La Farmacia does bottomless weekend brunches. Settle in for 1.5 hours of free-flowing Margs alongside tacos, tortilla chips and guac, grilled corn and churros with dulce de leche. Not a Marg fan? Mexican beer and wine is also included.
