CC Babcoq takes its name from the CC Babcock, the main antagonist in the hit 90s sitcom, The Nanny. The space (very loosely) takes its inspiration from Babcock's character: it's bold, colourful and has a strong sense of self. Babcock's character must have also really liked chicken, too, because CC Babcoq is also a rotisserie chicken shop (as well as being an all day eatery and bar).
The space, designed by studio TomMarkHenry, is beautiful. The shopfront's tall glass windows are emphasised to let in Cronulla's coastal light. And the mural covering the back wall is a minimalist painting of pastels that hint at the Nanny's exaggerated 90s opulence (beaded and pearl necklaces zigzag across the walls). The marble countertops anchor the space's sophistication.
