Coogee Beach
Coogee is the last stop on the famous coastal walk from Bondi, and it’s just as well there’s a variety of swimming options to choose from at the finishing line.
The beach is sheltered by nearby Wedding Cake Island, which creates excellent conditions in the bay. Save for the occasional shore break, it’s a much safer option than Maroubra down south. Coogee also boasts two spectacular rock pools to swim at, Wylie’s Baths and McIver Bath.
Coogee is bookmarked by two gargantuan beachside pubs, the Coogee Bay Hotel and the Coogee Pavilion. They’re joined by neighbourhood cafes, ice-cream parlours and pizza joints, making for a vibrant local hospitality scene.
