Although off to a late start this year, winter is truly, definitely, emphatically here. Snow has fallen over the weekend across the state, with beautiful images surfacing from Katoomba, Barrington Tops, Orange and Kosciuszko National Park of still, white landscapes.
The result of a cold front sweeping across south-east Australia, the snow was accompanied by Antarctic blasts of high winds, hail and freezing temperatures across the state. Over the next fortnight we can expect similar cold snaps to intermittently affect south-east New South Wales.
The snow has been received with great joy – especially by a certain pug. Here are some of our favourite images of the weekend's winter wonderlands.
