Sydney's new carpark in Mascot, Park on King, has opened with an introductory rate of $4 per day. Located just 10 minutes from Sydney Airport - and with a free shuttle bus to your terminal - it's a bargain compared to the Sydney Airport carparks, which can cost up to $59 per day for parking. Even the unshaded Blue Emu carpark 15 minutes by shuttle from the domestic terminal charges around $56 per day.
You'll find 1600-plus parking spaces in the new carpark - a relief considering the Sydney Airport carpark is always overcrowded (around 40 million people travel through Sydney airport every year).
Park on King director Steve Savelle wanted to give travellers an affordable alternative. "We are excited to be offering the best-priced airport parking in Sydney," says Savelle in an official statement. "It is something that travellers have desired for a long time, especially when other Sydney Airport carparks continue to increase already expensive prices."
Book your spot ahead of time via an online booking system - license plate recognition software means you can drive straight in. Once parked, the airport shuttle will be waiting. There is an on-site 24-hour security system and even a car wash if you feel like coming back to a freshly cleaned car.
Unfortunately, the $4 fee is only a short-term promotional offer, but from May, the price will go up to an affordable flat rate of $8.
Park on King is located at 338 King Street in Mascot. The shuttle bus operates from 4.30am-11pm.
