The NSW Government has announced that gyms, indoor pools, yoga studios and dance studios will be permitted to reopen on June 13.
As with all other reopenings, there will be restrictions: classes will be capped at 10 people, and a maximum of 100 people will be allowed into fitness venues. All venues must allocate four square metres of space per person. “Indoor swimming pools [and] saunas will also be opened up with some level of restrictions,” said Deputy Premier John Barilaro.
Barilaro also announced that tattoo and massage parlours would be permitted to reopen with a maximum of 10 patrons at a time. Junior sport (for those 18 years and under) will resume on July 1.
New South Wales has around 1500 gyms, all of which were forced to close almost 12 weeks ago.
