Last Monday, September 13, those who were fully vaccinated in locked-down areas of NSW were allowed out of their houses to socialise – in picnic form, with up to four vaccinated friends – for the first time since June. But the city’s parks and beaches really began to buzz over the weekend, as Sydneysiders headed outside in droves to picnic, play badminton and even get al fresco haircuts. Broadsheet was there to capture the joy and reunions – and found a glimmer of what’s in store for us when lockdown finally ends.
