At least 300 commuters have been evacuated from two Sydney trains following a fire that started on a train located inside a rail corridor at Edgecliff, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
An additional 50 people have been evacuated from the station’s platform, 7 News reports.
Fire crews are setting up a ventilation system to clear smoke from the platform and trains have been stopped in both directions.
According to T4 Sydney Trains, the public-transport operator has partially closed the line between Town Hall and Bondi Junction, and a replacement bus service will run between those stations.
Customers are advised to allow for extra travel time and listen out for announcements as stopping patterns may change at short notice.
