Perusing the menu at Golden Bo can be a bit of an effort, partly because it’s obscured by a gaudy green flashing palm tree, but also because there are over 120 dishes to choose from.

You’ll find all the Vietnamese classics – pho, bánh xèo, and vermicelli noodles – but many other dishes have a Chinese overtone. Be sure to check the specials on the wall for treats such as salt and pepper crab doused in thick chilli sauce, with a generous servings of egg noodles strewn with spring onion.

A plate of crisp duck also arrives heaped high with more of those greasy but satisfyingly sticky noodles. Black sesame ice cream makes a perfectly sweet finish to a rich meal, rounded off with red longan date tea.

Golden Bo is the choice to make in Chatswood when you’re looking for Asian food with a little fusion.
