Shopping can be an exhausting pastime, even for the seasoned consumers who populate the luxurious surrounds of Westfield Sydney. Fortunately, for those who are in need of a perk, Victoria Room has opened the Tea Salon on the dapper Designer Gallery, which promises to rejuvenate the weariest of shoppers.

In true Victoria Room style (the original establishment is in Darlinghurst), the Tea Salon is impossibly elegant, serving up English-inspired high tea fare by chef Joe Gambacorta. Think finger sandwiches, vegetable terrine, cupcakes and of course, those most English of afternoon delights, scones. In fact, scones are so revered at the Tea Salon they have their very own menu.

Designed by national award-winning architect Dale Jones-Evans, the Tea Salon is opulent and elegant, while remaining true to its surrounds (let’s not forget we’re in a shopping mall, albeit a posh one). A cute picket fence encloses the salon, so you can escape the madness, for a while, at least.

So pull up a bentwood, order a glass of bubbles and watch idle shoppers wander by as your slather your scones in the sweet jam and cream.
