The sign above the counter in Tuckshop reads “Greetings from Glenhaven: Where it’s not the city and you couldn’t care less.” And, when you’ve got Tuckshop providing all the coffee, burgers and green smoothies your heart desires, why would you?

Set up by the boys behind The Baron, Ricky Row, Mike Ico and Matthew Stone – and Eels legend Nathan Hindmarsh – Tuckshop is in a defunct milk bar in what the owners themselves describe as the middle of “suburbia.”

The team decided to stay true to the venue’s takeaway roots and put a contemporary spin on the good-old tuckshop. Along with cheeseburgers and bacon-and-egg rolls, it serves single-origin coffee and Sonoma bread.

Tuckshop also demonstrates local pride in its produce. All the meat it serves comes from around the corner in Kenthurst and all of the organic fruit and veg comes from Dural. Eggs are supplied from nearby Kellyville.
