First it was a cheese shop. Then it was a Salt Meats Cheese deli. And as of June 2017, it’s Salt Meats Cheese Mosman: a restaurant, pizzeria and cocktail bar trading the deli slicer and pickled olives for made-to-order pizzas and Negronis.

The menu follows much the same brief as Salt Meats Cheese’s other stores. This, the company’s second venue, also rotates specials such as quattro formaggi pizza or lamb pappardelle on top of SMC classics. There’s the sopressa salami and fior di latte diavola pizza; two antipasto plate offerings; and a Nutella pizza for dessert.

But at this spot, there’s also an extensive cocktail list. It’s divided into five categories – short drinks, long drinks, Martinis, champagne cocktails and spritzers – and includes mixes such as the grapefruit-centric Hemingway Daiquiri or the Red Lobster: a Bloody Mary with salumi garnish.

Inside, wooden shutters function as a wall display and greenery spills from the ceiling. High stools and bar-height tables are juxtaposed with tile-topped tables and white chairs throughout. The bar is a visual focal point, with bottles lining the back wall and the word “bar” hanging above.
