Salt Meats Cheese Bondi Junction
Salt Meats Cheese is the ultimate affordable super-deli, a family-run operation by cousins Stefano De Blasi and Edoardo Perlo. The Bondi Junction outpost is one of of five locations. It’s inside Harris Farm, a top-of-the-line grocer, continuing the partnership between the two businesses.
With a combination of bar and table seating this venue is one of the more casual offerings in the group, though the menu stays true to the founders’ vision of authentic, high quality yet affordable Italian and European cuisine.
Hungry shoppers can browse a display of frittatas, pides and pastas, or order from the a-la-carte menu, which includes everything you’d expect from the gourmet deli. There is cured meat and cheese boards with homemade preserves and pickles, and fresh salads packed with grains and fresh produce.
There’s also a huge range of wood-fired pizzas, and a meat-and-cheese counter where shoppers can sample European cheeses or some of the 100 legs of prosciutto, serrano (air-dried Spanish ham) and jamon (regular Spanish ham).
There’s a breakfast menu, too, served until the late afternoon. And if dining in a supermarket isn’t your thing, most takeaway options come with a lower price tag.
