Jackie Park has quite a history. He moved to Australia from South Korea in 2008. Since then, he’s co-founded Oliver Brown Belgian Chocolate Cafe, and started Koi Dessert Bar with Reynold Poernomo (Park works there at night).
His first solo venture, Moss Bros, is a brunch and dessert cafe in the heart of the revamped Kareela Village. It serves 15 different desserts, plus an all-day breakfast menu including staples such as a chicken burger, shakshuka and vegan salad bowl.
Inspired by the Art Deco design of European patisseries, Park left the production up to Brisbane-based design company, Collectivus. The emerald and sage colour palette is combined with brass and marble details, a patterned tile floor, velvet banquette seating, warm lighting, and timber furniture. The luxe interior acquired a nomination for an Eat Drink Design award.
