Housed in a light-filled and sunny corner space on Balmain Road, The Local Press serves breakfast, lunch and coffee that it roasts itself. The blend is based on Central American and African beans with some monsooned Arabica beans. Roasting takes place on site with a Has Garanti five-kilogram drum roaster.
The Local Press menu is simple and seasonal with a focus on locally sourced produce. Once Revolver and now Little Indi chef Rebecca Chippington collaborated with Verversis to shape the menu, and helps out in the kitchen on Saturdays and Mondays. For breakfast we suggest buckwheat pancakes with sweet ricotta, fresh mango and pepita clusters. Then, return at lunchtime for a lamb burger with mint, tzatziki and roast tomato.
