This petite espresso bar and micro-roastery is by Fitzroy’s Industry Beans, one of the pillars of Melbourne’s specialty coffee scene, which now has interstate locations in both Brisbane and Sydney.

If you know the Industry Beans aesthetic, you’ll instantly recognise the white counter, shiny La Marzocco Modbars and retail section stacked with coffee bags and chilled cans of cold brew. But the real head-turner is the Loring micro-roaster, which you can see from the street (or the fruit and veg section in the adjacent Woolworths) through glass windows.

While the space is limited, the choices here are many. There are black, white and filter options; still and sparkling cans of cold brew; plus iced-coffees, chai and hot chocolate. It’s all about takeaway here, and the whole experience is designed to put a coffee in your hand in around two minutes.
