The Galley at Sydney Boathouse

From the outdoor wicker loungers of cafe The Galley in Rozelle Bay, some of the world's most luxurious super yachts can be admired.

Owner Bal Singh designed The Galley to feel like a hidden oasis, creating the cafe to reflect its nautical Hamptons-style surroundings. There’s raw timbers, plenty of whites and blues, and plants hanging from the ceiling and walls. Surprisingly it is one of few venues making the most of Sydney’s working wharfs. It’s got impressive views of the harbour and past Anzac Bridge to the city.

Campos is the house coffee, and if you’re dining in the morning you’re likely to order it with eggs. They come with bacon and smoky barbeque sauce in a brioche roll, scrambled with black sausage, or poached with corn and zucchini fritters, avocado, haloumi and roast tomato. At lunch, there's a salmon sashimi poke bowl, a Wagyu burger and a teriyaki chargrilled chicken panini on their menu.

To drink, there's smoothies – such as the Avocado Green, which blends avocado, banana, milk, yoghurt, coconut cream, lemon and honey – and a Colombian panela, a sweet, lemony sugarcane drink available hot or cold.

And if you’re lucky enough to own one of the mega yachts moored in the bay, The Galley packs meals into wicker baskets for you to enjoy as you drift around the harbour.
