Flour and Stone Salon
Once a tiny bakery seating only a dozen people, Flour and Stone expanded in early 2020 to seat 30, allowing customers more space to spread out and enjoy their meal. Now if you’re looking for takeaway you can head over to Flour and Stone Annexe, which is just a few doors down.
The shop is bursting with classic treats such as lamingtons with a delicate sponge, dense blocks of brownies, scones dressed with jam and cream. For a savoury breakfast, there’s a leek and gruyere tart that melts in your mouth, sandwiches brimming with fillings and boiled eggs with soldiers. Unusual but tasty offerings such as the beetroot and seed cake or spelt carrot cake might win you over as well.
Complement your meal with a cup of organic tea by Rabbit Hole or coffee by Coffee Alchemy](http://www.broadsheet.com.au/sydney/food-and-drink/directory/cafe/coffee-alchemy).
A pastel rainbow of iced ginger breads – in an array of shapes, sizes and gift-boxed sets – might make a nice little present to a friend, just so no-one thinks you came here to indulge in cakes and pastries alone.
