Squirreled away at the end of a touristy arcade and spilling out into Kendall and Mill Laneways, The Fine Food Store is a magnet for food lovers visiting the historic Rocks. It’s a multi-faced little space, with a couple of different entrances, table nooks here and there and what feels like a covered in veranda out the back looking out to the lanes.

It’s a go-to spot for brilliant salad-heavy lunches and wall-to-wall shelves of tasty little gourmet treats. Think hot sauces, chutneys, chocolates, teas and sweets; pick up tea craft teas, Tre Pani pastries and rock candies, grab a wrap or frittata to go, or put together a box of treats for a friend. In fact, you can do your gourmet shopping while you’re here.

The kitchen team banters cheerfully and sends out fresh lamb chorizo sausage rolls or house-made spicy baked beans. This is all about great plates of food, from cheese platters, to salmon and eggs, daily salads (try the brown rice and red quinoa) or the street-wise Wagyu sliders. At the Fine Food Store they roast all of the coffee beans themselves, it's one of the best spots in the area to grab a takeaway coffee before wandering around The Rocks.

All day breakfasts (offering both light and hearty options) are a real winner – and really, when you’re in the heart of The Rocks, you’d better start you day off right before you go exploring.
