Visiting Celsius Coffee & Dining is a special experience. Hovering over the water on Kirribilli wharf, it’s got unbeatable views of Bradleys Head in Mosman, the naval ships at Garden Island, and ferries pulling in and out of the terminal. But it’s never just relied on the scenery to draw a crowd – its breakfast game is strong.
Original chef Jordan Hajek’s (ex-Noma) flower-and-fruit-topped waffle dish is now the stuff of social-media legend, but owner Steve Chrun sought to take the cafe to new heights in 2022 with an aesthetic refresh inspired by the Hamptons. The original dark-wood look has been shelved for a light and bright look, with white wooden panels complemented by a soft pastel pink feature wall. The vast windows wrapping the space now have white frames that melt into the scenery.
The menu continues to evolve, but you'll always find some old faithfuls alongside new dishes. The waffles are here, now stuffed with Messina chocolate and peanut-butter cream, topped with fruit, maple syrup and nuts. The Billy’s eggs (chilli-buttered poached eggs with braised tomatoes and onion jam on sourdough) also remain. Moving into lunch territory, you might order pasta with chilli butter and prawns, or seared Atlantic salmon with shellfish-and-ginger broth and warm soba noodles.
A bunch of dishes – including bacon and egg rolls, acai bowls, and sambal and cheese toasties – are also available to take away and sweeten your ferry commute into the city.
