Features

Don’t be fooled by the dimensions of this shoebox-sized hole-in-the-wall along Surry Hills’ Cleveland Street. Coffee at Cafe Nookie is taken seriously, with a house blend prepared by Toby’s Estate, served rich and bold.

A cute serving window is cut into Cafe Nookie's olive green brick facade, framed by floral burgundy window curtains. Keeping in context with its local surrounds, expect to find a changing array of vibrant graffiti and cartoon art scrawled in chalk on the blackboard door.

While seating is absent save for a couple of short stools, make a morning pit stop at this spot for a Luke Avenue breakfast cookie, or pastries baked daily. Choose from almond croissants, muffins and cherry Danishes. For hot snacks, tuck into lamb and rosemary or chicken and leek pies, or sausage rolls and quiches. Freshly baked organic sourdough rolls also feature each morning, generously packed with chicken and brie, prosciutto and bocconcini or vegetarian-friendly beetroot with cheese, avocado and sun-dried tomato.
