The Brewery Espresso Bar

Escape from the CBD rush and immerse yourself in the calm of The Brewery Espresso Bar. Owned by Costa Arvanitopoulos and located opposite the acclaimed Central Baking Depot, the space is split into two levels, separated by a winding, narrow staircase, with a chilled upstairs crèche and a charming curvaceous bay window below complemented by a wall of colourful artwork. Service here is attentive, relaxed and personable, with staff always available for a chat.

CBD workers are kept happy by the full bodied Allpress coffee, prepared from the La Marzocco machine situated in the compact, red tiled, open kitchen. A changing variety Single Origin brews, sourced from destinations such as Ethiopia, Papua New Guinea and Sumatra (Indonesia) are also on offer.

The blackboard menus hang sprawled across the wall, with breakfast featuring the popular croque madame sandwich, yoghurt with granola and berry compote and cheese and tomato toasties. Lunch picks include a range of housemade sandwiches on Infinity bread, offering fillings such as prosciutto, provolone cheese and sundried tomato pesto and chilli chicken with rocket. For an afternoon sweet treat, the chocolate fudge brownie is the one.
